Harry Flournoy

Harry Flournoy Jr. (December 10, 1943 – November 26, 2016)[1] was an American college basketball player, originally from Gary, Indiana.

Flournoy made history when his team won the 1966 NCAA Division I National Championship game against the University of Kentucky with the first ever all Black starting lineup.

[3] He injured his knee during the first quarter of the game, however following the victory he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated rebounding over Pat Riley.

[4] Texas Western Miners was the first college team inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.
