In 1916 he was Director-General of Commercial Intelligence in Calcutta and in 1922 Secretary to the Government of India, Commerce Dept.
[2] In 1934 he was appointed Director of the Imperial Institute,[1] a post in which he remained until 1953.
He served on government bodies including the Colonial Products Research Council.
[3] Sir Lindsay was Chairman of Council of the Royal Society of Arts, editing the publication British Commonwealth Objectives in 1946.
