Hauraki District Council

Hauraki District Council (Māori: Kaunihera o te Rohe o Hauraki) is the territorial authority for the Hauraki District of New Zealand.

[1] The council consists of the mayor of Hauraki and 13 ward councillors.

[1] The current mayor is Toby Adams.

[2] Adams was re-elected unopposed in 2022 for a further three-year term.

[3] The council was established in 1989 from the merger of Waihi Borough Council (established in 1902), Paeroa Borough Council (established in 1915), and Hauraki Plains County Council (established in 1920).
