Heaton Rhodes

Sir Robert Heaton Rhodes KCVO KBE GCStJ VD (27 February 1861 – 30 July 1956) was a New Zealand politician and lawyer.

He went to England to attend Hereford Cathedral School[1] and then studied at Brasenose College, Oxford, from which he graduated in 1884.

He was President of the Royal Philatelic Society of New Zealand and signed the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists in 1949.

[3] For his role as the commissioner of the New Zealand Red Cross, Rhodes was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) in the 1920 New Year Honours.

[4] For his role of dealing with the Duke and Duchess of York he was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) in July 1927.
