Henning Schulzrinne is a German-American computer engineer who led research and development of the voice over IP network protocols.

He joined the faculty of the Computer Science department at Columbia University in 1998, and served as chair and Julian Clarence Levi Professor.

[4] Schulzrinne was the chief technology officer (CTO) for the United States Federal Communications Commission, from December 19, 2011 to 2014.

[5] He was elected as an Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Fellow in 2014 for contributions to the design of protocols, applications, and algorithms for Internet multimedia.

[6] In 2006, Schulzrinne was elevated to IEEE fellow for contributions to the design of protocols, applications, and algorithms for Internet multimedia.
