Henry B. Hansmann

[1] Hansmann is noted for his scholarship on the economics of organizational ownership and design and is credited with founding the modern study of nonprofit organizations.

[5] Hansmann attended Brown University, receiving a B.A in mathematics in 1967.

[6] Hansmann taught at the University of Pennsylvania Law School between 1975 and 1983.

In 2004 he served as president of the American Law and Economics Association.

He was elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2007.
