Henry Thynne Lascelles, 4th Earl of Harewood (18 June 1824 – 24 June 1892), was a British peer and the son of Henry Lascelles, 3rd Earl of Harewood.
He took a great interest in the operation of the Leeds General Infirmary, and the St James Hospital Workhouse, working with the Chairman of the Leeds Board of Guardians, Major (William) Middleton Esq., to provide lavish decorations for the hospitals' patients at Christmas, 1872.
[1][2] He was commanding officer of the Yorkshire Hussars, a part-time Yeomanry Cavalry regiment, from 1859 to 1870.
[3] He married firstly, Lady Elizabeth Joanna de Burgh (22 February 1826 – 26 February 1854), daughter of Ulick de Burgh, 1st Marquess of Clanricarde, on 17 July 1845.
They had six children: On 21 April 1858, he married secondly, Diana Smyth (c. 1838 – 4 March 1904), a granddaughter of George FitzRoy, 4th Duke of Grafton and great-granddaughter of Prince William Henry, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (through his illegitimate daughter).
