Henry Vane, 12th Baron Barnard

Vane is the son of the 11th Baron Barnard and Lady Davina Mary, née Cecil,[1] the eldest daughter of David Cecil, 6th Marquess of Exeter, the Olympic gold medallist who inspired the character of Lord Andrew Lindsay in the film Chariots of Fire (1981).

Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, was one of the sponsors at his baptism.

On 12 December 1998, Vane married Lydia Katherine (Kate) Robson, the daughter of Christopher Robson of Rudd Hall, Richmond, Yorkshire.
