Herbert Mortimer Luckock

Herbert Mortimer Luckock (11 July 1833[1][2] – 24 March 1909 ) was a British Anglican priest in the Church of England.

Luckock was born in 1833 at Great Barr, Staffordshire, the son of the Rev.

Thomas George Mortimer Luckock and Harriet Anne Chune.

[2] In 1856, he was one of ten Cambridge students who created a set of rules of football of some historical importance in the development of that sport.

[3][4] In youth Luckock had played cricket for Shrewsbury School when he appeared in one county match for Shropshire in 1853.
