Herbst is an unincorporated census-designated place in Franklin Township, Grant County, Indiana, in the United States.

[4] A post office was established at Herbst in 1880, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1962.

[6] Herbst is located in western Grant County 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Marion, the county seat, and 2 miles (3 km) east of Swayzee.
