Herschel Caldwell

Herschel Amos Caldwell (August 13, 1903 – July 31, 1989) was a college football player and coach.

He was a member of the first Southern team to win a Rose Bowl in 1925.

[1] Caldwell made the extra point to tie Stanford in the Rose Bowl the next year.

[2] Caldwell was called by one source "one of the greatest defensive backs the South has produced in years.

[5] Caldwell then coached under his former mentor Wade as an assistant at Duke.
