Herscher is a village in Kankakee County, Illinois, United States.

Illinois Route 115 forms the northern edge of the village; the highway leads east 16 miles (26 km) to Kankakee, the county seat.

According to the 2010 census, Herscher has a total area of 1.81 square miles (4.69 km2), all land.

There were 554 housing units at an average density of 321.2 per square mile (124.0/km2).

17.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
