It contains the unincorporated communities of Eastbrook, Lakewood Park, and Briar Hill.
As of the 2000 census,[6] there were 2,356 people, 925 households, and 690 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 98.34% White, 0.08% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races.
22.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
