On October 7, Matsumoto teamed with fellow Ibuki worker Tomoka Nakagawa to debut in Ice Ribbon, with the pair scoring the victory over Aoi Kizuki & Miki Ishii.

On February 1, 2009, at the Ibuki show in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, Matsumoto faced Sendai Sachiko for the JWP Junior Title/POP Title.
