Hjørundfjord is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway.
The villages of Bjørke, Leira, and Store Standal were all a part Hjørundfjord Municipality.
[4] The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the local Hjørundfjorden (Old Norse: Hjǫrundarfjǫrdr).
[6] The municipal council (Heradsstyre) of Hjørundfjord was made up of 17 representatives that were elected to four year terms.
