Hořice na Šumavě (German: Höritz) is a market town in Český Krumlov District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
Hořice na Šumavě consists of six municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] Hořice na Šumavě is located about 11 kilometres (7 mi) southwest of Český Krumlov and 31 km (19 mi) southwest of České Budějovice.
After World War II, the German population was expelled and the market town was repopulated by Czech settlers.
[3] The I/39 road (the section from Český Krumlov to Volary) passes through the market town.
Along the main road and the common there is a system of seven stone fountains, which served to supply the population with drinking water.
