The easternmost area of the county is within the Monday Creek watershed.

A small area in the north of the county is drained by Rush Creek.

23.70% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.00% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 29,380 people, 11,369 households, and 7,948 families living in the county.

Barack Obama came within 105 votes in 2008 and 128 in 2012; Bill Clinton was the last Democrat to win it, in 1996.

However, the margins of victory grew during the Donald Trump administration.
