The first National Championships was held in 1909 for the men's singles event.
[1] Bowls in Hong Kong started on the lawn of the 9 Knutsford Terrace in Kowloon in 1897.
This led to the formation of the Kowloon Bowling Green Club.
On 11 March 1961, the Hong Kong Lawn Bowls Association was formed.
[2] The HKLBA also organises the prestigious Hong Kong International Bowls Classic.
