Horacio González (1 February 1944 – 22 June 2021) was an Argentine teacher and essayist.
[1] Horacio has Italian descent through his maternal grandfather, born in Recanati, Marche.
He got the doctorate of social sciences at the Brazilian University of São Paulo in 1992.
He was part of the Carta Abierta group, and he was the director of the National Library of the Argentine Republic, for the period from 2005 to 2015.
González tested positive for COVID-19 on 19 May 2021, and was admitted to the Sanatorium Güemes in Buenos Aires on that day.
