Hosur is an industrial city located in the Tamil Nadu state of India.
Hosur is home to major manufacturing industries including Stellantis, Ashok Leyland, Titan, TVS Motors, Caterpillar, Ather Energy, Schaeffler, and many others.
In 1801 he handed over the southern part of the Mysore kingdom as a partial settlement to the Presidencies and provinces of British India.

There are plans for the development of an Information Technology Special Economic Zone near Hosur.
