Howard Emmett Rogers (1890–1971) was an American screenwriter, playwright, lyricist, and theatre director.
As a playwright he wrote the books for three Broadway musicals: The Midnight Rounders of 1920,[1] The Century Revue (1920),[2] and Luana (1930); the latter of which he also directed.
[3] He also wrote the lyrics to the 1922 Broadway musical Red Pepper.
[4] He was an active anti-communist member of the Screen Writers Guild.
Two of his last films Calling Bulldog Drummond (1951) and The Hour of 13 (1952) were made by MGM-British.
