Howell Township, Michigan

[4] The township is bordered on the southeast by the city of Howell, but the two are administered autonomously.

Interstate 96 passes through the southern part of the township, with access from Exit 133 (Highway M-59).

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 5,679 people, 1,902 households, and 1,565 families residing in the township.

There were 1,993 housing units at an average density of 62.8 per square mile (24.2/km2).

13.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
