Major-General Hugh Andrew Young CB DSO CBE (3 April 1898 – 21 January 1982) was a Canadian military officer and civil servant who served as the commissioner of the Northwest Territories from 1950 to 1953.
[1][3] In the Second World War, Young became a senior staff officer at the Canadian Military Headquarters in London.
From 1943 to 1944, he served on the general staff of II Canadian Corps, before returning to command of the 6th Brigade for the rest of the war.
Following the end of the war, Young oversaw the return of Canadian forces to Canada and succeeded without any stray casualties.
