[11] Surprising, SN 2003hy was also discovered by another amateur astronomer, Mark Armstrong who saw it on the same unfiltered CCD images and via a 0.35m reflector.
[14] It was reported by A. Narla, S. B. Cenko, W. Li and A. V. Filippenko from University of California, Berkeley through unfiltered CCD images.
[19] On June 28, 2022, astronomers confirmed that SN 2022lfa is a Type Ic supernova via a spectrum obtained on MJD 59755.43 using the 3-m Shane telescope at Lick Observatory.
