[3] Scott accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville,[3] where he majored in industrial engineering and played for coach Steve Spurrier and coach Ron Zook's Florida Gators football teams from 2000 to 2002.
[4] After his junior year, Scott decided to forgo his final season of NCAA eligibility and entered the NFL Draft.
On September 23, 2008, Scott was signed by the San Diego Chargers after the team released cornerback DeJuan Tribble.
