Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari

Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari CFR (born 22 April 1940) ascended the throne as the 11th Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council since 1995 following the demise of his uncle, Mallam Aliyu AbdulKadir.

[1][2][3] He relinquished his position as the Presiding Justice of Court of Appeal, Lagos Division to become the Custodian of the Shehu Alimi dynasty.

[8] Sulu Gambari became the 11th Emir of Ilorin on August 28, 1995, and was crowned on November 11, 1995, as he relinquished his position as the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division.

He initiated the renovation of Ilorin Central Mosque (constructed by his late father in 1979) to become a world class edifice.

[14] He founded the Shehu Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development with 11-man Committee and made Sheikh Dr. AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu its National President.
