The objectives of the conference are to promote exchanges and cooperation between political parties from different countries in the area and with various ideologies; to enhance mutual understanding and trust among Asian countries; to promote Asia's regional cooperation through the unique role and channel of political parties; to create an environment for sustained peace and shared prosperity in the region.
As of 2023, the Standing Committee of the ICAPP is composed of representatives of forty-nine members from Afghanistan, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Republic of Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Korea, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russian Federation, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.

Delegates from 81 political parties of 35 countries in the Asia-Pacific region attended the conference and four as observers from Germany and South Africa.
The ICAPP Conference on Natural Disasters and Environmental Protection was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during May 5–7, 2011, and was attended by representatives from 40 major political parties in 24 countries in the region.
[22] The ICAPP Conference on Poverty Alleviation was held in Kunming, China during July 17–18, 2010, and was attended by representatives from 58 major political parties in 28 countries in the region.
Representatives of 24 political parties and 50 public opinion leaders including intellectuals and journalists attended the conference.
