Isaac H. Bronson

Isaac Hopkins Bronson (October 16, 1802 – August 13, 1855) was an American lawyer and jurist who served one term as a United States representative from New York from 1837 to 1839.

Born on October 16, 1802, in either Rutland, New York,[1] or Waterbury, Connecticut,[2] Bronson attended the common schools and read law in 1822.

[1] He was appointed a Judge for the Fifth Judicial District of New York on April 18, 1838, serving from 1839 to 1840.

[2] Following the State of Florida's admission to the Union on March 3, 1845, Bronson was nominated by President James K. Polk on May 5, 1846, to the United States District Court for the District of Florida, to a new seat authorized by 5 Stat. 788.

[2] He was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 8, 1846, and received his commission the same day.
