The song was later made popular by Travis Tritt, whose version, released in December 2000 as the second single from his album Down the Road I Go, peaked at number 2 on the U.S.

The song was also recorded in the mid-1990s by The Sky Kings, an American country-rock supergroup consisting of Bill Lloyd, Rusty Young, and John Cowan.
