Jack Ferguson (water polo, born 1930)

John Andrew Ferguson (born 4 April 1930) is a British water polo player.

Alongside water polo, Ferguson trained as a physical education teacher and worked for several schools in Scotland.

His father committed suicide at Dens Park, the home ground of Dundee, in January 1930, three months before Ferguson's birth in April of the same year.

He captained the RAF team and trained the side to victory in an inter-services tournament against the other branches of the armed forces.

He spent his career playing for Motherwell AC, with whom he won the Scottish Water Polo Cup 12 times in 13 attempts between 1947 and 1960.

The side opened with consecutive defeats against the United States and Hungary but won their remaining three matches to finish the competition in seventh place.
