Jalasangvi (or Jalasangavi or Jalsangi[1]) is a village in Homnabad Taluk, Bidar district, Karnataka, India.
Jalasangvi is a historical place, built by king Vikramaditya VI of the Chalukya dynasty.
There is a big pond in the village area, close to which there are some Chalukya temples in various states of ruin.
These well-endowed feminine figures in seductive tribhanga poses are "...moon breasted, swan-waisted and elephant-hipped", according to the traditional Indian artistic canons.
The sculptures of the Jalasangvi temple were the source of inspiration for the later Hoysala bracket-figures of Belur, Halebidu and Somanathapura.
