James Christopher Street

James Christopher Street (1832–1911) was an English Unitarian minister and vegetarianism activist.

[1] Street was superintendent missionary for the Manchester District Unitarian Association in 1858.

He believed that animals were the creation of God and it was immoral for humans to take their lives.

[10] In 1897, he was a speaker at the Vegetarian Society's fiftieth anniversary conference in Manchester.

[11] Street was chairman of the Vegetarian Federal Union's 1895 autumn congress.
