James Gibson (November 19, 1849 – December 12, 1918) was an American lawyer, judge and politician.

[1] Gibson was a member of the Jackson County Circuit Court from 1889 to 1904.

[1] Gibson married Mary Todd Pence of Weston, Missouri, on November 18, 1880.

They had one son and one daughter, James E. Gibson and Mrs. Burris McGie Little.

His son was the general manager of the Kansas City Railways Company.
