James J. Mingus (born 1964) is a United States Army general who has served as the vice chief of staff of the Army since 5 January 2024.

He most recently served as the director of the Joint Staff from 2022 to 2024.

He previously served as the director for operations of the Joint Staff from 2020 to 2022.
