[5] A similar dual registration with Swinton for the 2013 season followed during which Laithwaite broke his ankle playing against Featherstone Rovers on 1 April 2013.
[6] Laithwaite suffered a broken leg in June 2015 which ruled him out for the 2016 Super League season.
In 2018 he was dual registered with the Bradford Bulls in the 2018 RFL League 1 where he made 12 appearances and scored 4 tries, however his season was cut short when he suffered a broken leg in the 36–16 victory over Hunslet R.L.F.C.
Following this, Laithwaite announced his retirement from rugby league at the age of 27 to focus on his business career.
[7] In 2019, at the age of 27, after suffering a fourth leg break during his time at Bradford, he decided to retire; and has gone into the healthy food business with his partner, Michelle McDowall.
