James Town is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, United States.
[5] As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 552 people, 211 households, and 162 families residing in the CDP.
There were 211 households, out of which 31.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.9% were married couples living together, 5.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.2% were non-families.
19.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
Public education in the community of James Town is provided by Sweetwater County School District #2.
