He is reputed to be the Social Democratic MP who put forward the highest number motions during his time at the Riksdagen.

[26] On 8 April 2024, Jan Emanuel and former Christian Democrats and independent politician Sara Skyttedal founded Folklistan (The People's List), with the intention of running candidates for the upcoming 2024 European Parliament elections.
