Japan School of Doha

[1] The previous Japanese school in Doha, which had opened in 1979 but was eventually closed in 2001 due to lack of students,[2] and de-authorized by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on March 14, 2002 (Heisei 14).

[3] It was opened in April 2009 in order to replace the previous Japanese school.

[7] Yousef Mohamed Bilal, the Ambassador of Qatar to Japan, stated that the school's reopening was one of the indications of strengthening Japan-Qatar relations.
