The township was built on a foundation of solid stone and as a result of resistance to any form of suppression or oppression.

Traditional leaders of the Japekrom strongly uphold the principles of truth, fairness, hard work, a welcoming heart, inclusion and preservation of culture.

This is usually celebrated at Japekrom in the last quarter of every year and brings together chiefs, queen mothers, dignitaries and several people (both in Ghana and abroad) to participate and witness the events.

Aside from peasant farming activities which involve the growing of cassava, maize, yam, and tomatoes, the farmlands of Japekrom are predominantly used in the plantation of cashew which is mainly cultivated as a cash crop.

The Japekrom Health centre has an excellent staff and serves not only Ghanaians but patients from other neighbouring countries like Côte d'Ivoire.
