Kasdorf attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he played with the NCAA Men's Division I RPI Engineers of the ECAC Hockey conference.
[2] On February 11, 2015, the Winnipeg Jets traded Kasdorf, along with Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian, to the Sabres in exchange for Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux, and a conditional first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
[3] On March 14, 2016, Kasdorf signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.
[7] With limited contract offers, Kasdorf briefly signed in Europe with German club, Lausitzer Füchse of the DEL2.
On March 1, 2020, he was signed to a professional try-out with hometown club, the Manitoba Moose, to provide cover at the backup position.
