Javad Hashemipour Asl (Persian: جواد هاشمی‌پور اصل, born 17 January 1966) is an Iranian actor,[1] film director, writer and composer.

He was graduated from Tehran University college of arts in 1994.

He began acting in cinema with Parvaz Dar Shab (1987, Rasoul Mollagholipour).

[2][better source needed] During 2009-10 election protests, he directed and acted in a political theatre named Farzande Edalat with presence of a number of politicians such as Mohammad Khatami, former President.

He read a poetry for Khatami and said that "I learned that the desires of the child against the dictatorship, I tell in theatre".
