Jay Weston (born John Martin Weinstein, March 9, 1929 – February 28, 2023) was an American film producer and restaurant critic.
[4] When he returned to New York from the war in 1953, he started his career in public relations, in which he founded one of the largest PR firms in the country at that time.
[4] Weston became head of ABC's feature film division, Palomar Pictures, in 1967, where his first project became They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
Weston then co-produced For Love of Ivy, the first major studio production to star two black actors (Sidney Poitier and Abbey Lincoln).
[4] In 1968, Weston returned to New York to produce the Broadway play Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, which launched the career of a then-unknown Al Pacino.
