He then taught economics at Sciences Po (1958-59), where he was one of the first scholars at the Centre de Recherches et d'etudes Internationales (CERI) in 1958.

He advised the presidential election campaigns of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing in 1981, Raymond Barre in 1988, and François Bayrou in 2002.
