Jeff Smith (motorcyclist)

Jeffrey Vincent Smith MBE (born 1934) is an English former professional motorcycle racer.

[1][2] In the 1970 New Year Honours, Smith was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to motorcycle racing.

[1][3][4] Born in Colne, Lancashire, England, Smith began in competitions as a trials rider, becoming so successful that he was offered a place on the Norton factory team.

Smith won the 1966 500cc Finnish Grand Prix but dropped to third in the 500cc season final points standings behind Friedrichs and his ČZ teammate Tibblin.

At the age of thirty-five, Smith made his final World Championship appearance at the iconic Namur circuit for the 1969 500cc Belgian Grand Prix.
