Jeremias Schröder

[2] Archabbot Jeremias Schröder was born on 8 December 1964 in Bad Wörishofen.

From 1985 to 1990 he studied philosophy and theology in Rome and from 1990 to 1994 history in Oxford.

In 2012 the personal union of the two positions was split and he resigned from the leadership of the abbey but remained praeses of the Ottilien Congregation.

[1]In 2024 he was elected as Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation at Sant'Anselmo Abbey in Rome.

Jeremias Schröder was selected to take part at the synod as one of the elected representatives of the Union Of Superiors General.
