Jim Blevins

A native of Moulton, Alabama, Blevins lettered in football, basketball, and baseball while attending Lawrence County High School.

[2] While at Alabama Blevins played tackle for the Crimson Tide where he lettered in 1957 under head coach Jennings B. Whitworth and in both 1958 and 1959 under Bear Bryant.

[3] After graduation from Alabama, Blevins returned to Moulton and served as an assiatant coach at his high school alma mater, Lawrence County for the 1960 and 1961 seasons.

[4] After only one season with the Gamecocks, he was elevated to head coach in November 1964 after Don Salls resigned from the position.

[5] During his four-year tenure as head coach at Jacksonville State, Blevins had an overall record of 22–15–1 and won a pair of Alabama Collegiate Conference championships.
