James E. Price (born November 27, 1949) is an American former professional basketball player and coach.

He played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals and was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 1972 NBA draft.

Price played seven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1972 to 1979, spending time with the Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Buffalo Braves, Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons.
