The event is organized by Skate Canada, the sport's national governing body.

[3] Patrick Chan currently hold the record for the most Canadian Championships won in men's singles (with ten),[4] while Constance Wilson-Samuel holds the record in women's singles (with nine).

[5] Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford hold the record in pair skating (with seven),[6] while Shae-Lynn Bourne and Victor Kraatz hold the record in ice dance (with ten).

[8] In December 2021, due to the Omicron variant and Ontario's COVID-19 public health orders, it was announced that the 2022 Canadian Championships would be held behind closed doors with no spectators or on-site media, and all ticket purchases would be refunded.
