Jirón Ica is a major street in the Damero de Pizarro, located in the historic centre of Lima, Peru.
The road that today constitutes the street was laid by Francisco Pizarro when he founded the city of Lima on January 18, 1535.
Prior to this renaming, each block (cuadra) had a unique name: The former Broggi brothers' confectionery was located on the street.
Originally owned by the Charity of Lima, it belonged to the Swiss-Italian Broggi brothers, of which Pedro had initially founded it in 1858, but it was only in the 1870s that it became the meeting place for a number of artists, intellectuals and other important people from the city.
Painter Pancho Fierro had a workshop inside the building, where journalist Ismael Portal [es] met him in 1879.
