Joe Flaherty (born 1969/1970) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician who has served as a member of Seanad Éireann since December 2024.
He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Longford–Westmeath constituency from 2020 to 2024.
[2] Flaherty was co-opted onto Longford County Council in 2018, and was re-elected in 2019.
In 2020, immediately after being elected as TD, Flaherty wrote a letter to court on behalf of three men convicted of assault, with former justice minister Charles Flanagan stating it was "dangerous" for TDs to try to "influence judicial decisions".
